Last week (Friday 9 May), at Liverpool Crown Court, two women from Merseyside were sentenced to a total of 30 months in prison for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Leah Allen, 36, of Appleby Drive, Netherton, was jailed following an investigation by officers from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU). Amanda Allen, 34, of Ash Road, Litherland, was given a sentence for her involvement.
The pair were arrested in November last year, after officers attended their home address for an unrelated matter. During the search, they recovered several mobile phones and a significant quantity of white powder, later confirmed to be cocaine, concealed in various locations throughout the property, including inside a Celebrations chocolate tub.
Detective Inspector Daniel Murphy, from NWROCU’s Operations Team, said:
“This case highlights the lengths individuals will go to in order to conceal illegal drugs, and the determination of our officers to uncover and disrupt this kind of criminal activity. The sentencing today sends a clear message that those involved in the supply of Class A drugs will be identified, arrested, and brought to justice.
“Drugs cause untold harm in our communities, and we remain committed to targeting those who profit from this misery.”
