Yesterday (Wednesday 22 Janaury), the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit’s Proactive Economic Crime Team (PECT) executed search warrants at two addresses in Newton Heath and Chadderton in Greater Manchester as part of an ongoing fraud and counterfeit goods investigation.
During the operation, two men from Newton Heath and Blackley were arrested for fraud, counterfeit goods, money laundering, and drugs offences. A third address was subsequently searched in Blackley.
During the searches, officers recovered a significant quantity of counterfeit items along with suspected Class A and B drugs.
The were taken to a local police station for questioning but have been release under investigation.
Detective Constable Tony Cregan from the NWROCU's PECT Team commented:
"This operation highlights our commitment to tackling organised crime and protecting the public from the dangers associated with fraud, counterfeit goods, money laundering, and illegal drugs.
"We will continue to work tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice."
