On Monday 16 February, the NWROCU's Anti-Money Laundering Unit charged a man and a woman as part an investigation into the operation of an escort agency in Birkenhead, Merseyside.
Leanne Thomas, 50, and David Thomas 58, both of Bagillt, Flintshire were charged with controlling prostitution for gain, keeping a brothel, money laundering and the selling of medicinal products in breach of Human Medicines Regulations. The charges follow an investigation conducted by officers from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit.
Leanne and David Thomas have been released under investigation and are due to appear at Wirral Magistrates Court on 23 March 2026.
