More than 550 people were arrested and £18 million in cash and assets seized as law enforcement teams across the country collaborated on a month-long intensification targeting fraud.
Throughout February, ROCUs, police forces and partner agencies took part in Operation Henhouse, the fifth interation of a coordinated campaign of fraud enforcement activity.
ROCU teams played a key role in working with national agencies such as City of London Police and National Economic Crime Centre alongside local partners to pursue offenders, safeguard victims, and disrupt criminal networks at scale.
Results across the UK included 557 arrests, 249 cease and desist notices issued, 172 voluntary interviews, £9 million secured through Account Freezing Orders, £2.8 million in cash seizures and £15.3 million in non-cash asset seizures.
Each ROCU has a dedicated economic crime unit made up of specialist financial investigators and analysts tackling offenders linked to fraud, money laundering and possession of criminal property.
