Five members of an organised crime group have been sentenced following a protracted investigation led by Tarian, the Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU) for southern Wales.
Tarian established Operation Rooster to dismantle a group operating across south Wales and the south-west of England. The group was linked to the supply of drugs with an estimated street value of more than £3.5 million, including cocaine, crack cocaine, MDMA, methamphetamine, and ketamine.
Officers established that a key member of the group, Urszula Glowacka, along with her associate Pawel Kobis, received instructions from an individual using multiple aliases, including ‘X’, ‘Extra’, ‘Ev’ and ‘Everest’. They were directed to collect and distribute large quantities of drugs across the United Kingdom. Jamie Davies, along with brothers Nazif and Aleksander Lala, acted as couriers, transporting drugs to the group’s extensive customer base.
During arrests and searches of premises, officers seized mobile phones and significant quantities of controlled drugs.
As a result of the strength of the evidence, all defendants pleaded guilty prior to trial.
On Monday, 18 May 2026, sentencing took place at Cardiff Crown Court. The following sentences were handed down:
Detective Sergeant Amy Podmore, of Tarian ROCU, said:
“This was a complex investigation into an organised crime group operating across a wide geographical area. These individuals acted of their own free will, distributing wholesale quantities of drugs over significant distances for financial gain, with no regard for the harm caused to our communities.
“The sentences reflect the seriousness of these offences and should serve as a warning to others.
“I would encourage anyone with information about illegal drug supply to report it by calling 101, or 999 if there is an immediate danger or threat to life. Anonymous reports can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or be filling out a secure form on their website: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/give-information-anonymously“
