Police Cyber Clinics are going to be running each month across the Yorkshire and Humber region raising awareness about cyber crime threats and offering free practical advice and solutions to businesses and wider not for profit organisations.

The clinics will be delivered by the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit (YHROCU) in conjunction with their partners; Police Cyber Alarm, North East Business Resilience Centre and local Forces.

The next event will be held on 27 June at York Racecourse and will be delivered across two sessions, once in the morning and then repeated in the afternoon.

There will a series of short presentations, exhibition stands, networking opportunities and hands-on exercises for all those attending to help improve their knowledge and understanding of cyber crime and how it could affect their business.

Detective Inspector Richard Wallis of YHROCU’s Regional Cyber Crime Unit, said: “We are excited to be able to offer these monthly cyber clinics in the Yorkshire and Humber region throughout the next 12 months at no cost to those attending.

“Our first clinic was held in Leeds last month with excellent feedback received from delegates attending and we want to build on its success to help as many businesses and organisations across the region to improve their cyber awareness and security.

“A range of topics will be covered during each session led by cyber security experts. Delegates will then be able to present their own questions to our experts in a relaxed environment, attend our exhibition stands and sign up for free cyber security solutions on the day.

A cyber attack can have a significant long-lasting impact on businesses and wider organisations, and by delivering these free to attend Police Cyber Clinics we aim to provide delegates with the knowledge and tools to take back to their workplace and safeguard their digital assets.”
