Man extradited from Brazil for drug importation and supply

A 49-year-old man has today, Friday 14 March, been extradited from Brazil and charged with conspiracy to supply and import Class A drugs.

The man, originally from Audenshaw, was initially arrested in Brazil on an international warrant and today extradition proceedings were completed with his successful return to the UK.

He will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court tomorrow (Saturday 15 March).

Detective Inspector Mike Robinson from the NWROCU's Operations Team said: “We have been working closely with the NCA, Greater Manchester Police, and Brazilian authorities, and today’s arrest demonstrates the benefits of joint working between police forces and other national partner agencies.”

"This case highlights the importance of international cooperation in tackling drug trafficking and ensuring that those involved in such activities are brought to justice."
