Drug dealer jailed after cocaine and cannabis seized

A drug dealer has been jailed after we managed to connect him to the supply of cocaine and cannabis.
We seized a mobile phone belonging to Xhevahir Ademaj after stopping a car and recovering a stash of cannabis in West Bromwich in July.
The phone was forensically examined and we established a network of clients to which he was clearly supplying drugs.
We carried out a raid at an address linked to Ademaj in Ryland Street, Birmingham, and discovered a large amount of cannabis and wraps of cocaine.
Wads of cash and various SIM cards were also recovered, and there was evidence of drugs being packaged and distributed from the premises.
Ademaj was charged with possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and also being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
The 27-year-old, of no fixed address but previously from Smethwick, pleaded guilty to the offences.
He was sentenced to four years imprisonment at Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday (9 December).
The investigation was carried out by officers from the West Midlands Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU) and we strongly believe Ademaj was a significant part of a supply chain and involved in large sales to other dealers.
Drugs not only ruin lives but fuel other crime, and we've managed to take someone involved in the illegal network off the streets and put behind bars.
