Two men involved in supplying drugs across the country have been sentenced following an investigation by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU).

Umeir Iqbal and Haaris Sheikh were sentenced last Thursday (5/2) at Reading Crown Court for their individual involvement in importing and distributing class A and class B drugs.

Between late 2023 and early 2025, Iqbal played a leading role in importing and distributing cocaine into the UK, as well as distributing heroin and cannabis in wholesale quantities. He also operated a local drugs line, supplying cocaine and cannabis within Slough and West London.

The group he led was highly organised, with each member operating in a defined role. Roles included managing street-level dealing, transporting drugs and cash, collecting proceeds, handling packaging, and overseeing financial transactions.

Following his arrest in July 2024, Iqbal continued to partake in criminal activity, controlling those in the group using illicit mobile devices in prison.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Faraz Vakani said, “These two men, as well as all those convicted prior to today’s hearing, were a well-organised group who played a significant role in the supply of harmful drugs.

“Thanks to the dedication of our team, we were able to disrupt their activity and bring those responsible to justice.

“We remain committed to identifying and disrupting organised criminal networks, and hope these sentences send a clear message that those involved in drug supply will be investigated and prosecuted.”

In hearings last March at Reading Crown Court, both offenders pleaded guilty to all charges brought against them.

Umeir Iqbal, aged 33, of Castleview Road, Slough, was sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment for importation of cocaine, and conspiracy to supply class A and class B drugs (namely cocaine, heroin and cannabis), and possession of a mobile phone in prison.

Haaris Sheikh, aged 27, of Morton Close, Uxbridge, was sentenced to 22 months’ imprisonment for conspiracy to supply Class B drugs (namely cannabis).

In October last year, six others were sentenced for their involvement with the group’s activities. Following guilty pleas in hearings from November 2024 to March 2025, the below offenders were each convicted of conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs (namely cocaine and cannabis). Their sentences were as follows:

  • Feisal Osmanie, aged 31, of Stanley Kubrick Road, Uxbridge, was sentenced to nine years’ imprisonment.
  • Charlotte Lightfoot, aged 36, of East Avenue, Hayes, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.
  • Marta Karczewska, aged 37, of Henry Road, Slough, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.

The below offenders pleaded not guilty, but following a three week trial at Reading Crown Court last year were found guilty by a unanimous verdict of conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs (namely cocaine and cannabis). Their sentences were as follows:

  • Hamza Mann, aged 28, of Carlton Avenue, Hayes, was sentenced to nine years’ imprisonment.
  • Umar Sheryar, aged 38, of Cottingham Road, Feltham, was sentenced to 11 years’ imprisonment.
  • Noor Khurana, aged 34, of High Street, Hounslow, was sentenced to five years and six months’ imprisonment. Khurana was also found guilty of conspiracy to supply class A drug heroin.

The group were all charged between July 2024 and January 2025.
