Two Cambridgeshire drug dealers used the dark web to supply heroin, cocaine and amphetamine to hundreds of users across the UK.

Nathan Gilson‑Massie and Greta Borkauskaite were involved in an extensive supply chain, much of which was coordinated from their own home in Wisbech.

An investigation led by the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) established drug deals were initially arranged through a dedicated Telegram Messenger channel under the handle ‘Gorgonites’.

Gilson‑Massie and Borkauskaite would then use encrypted online marketplaces, designed to conceal the identity of vendors and customers, including a dark website called Nemesis.

Branded packaging and delivery labels

On 18 July 2024, officers executed a warrant at Gilson-Massie and Borkauskaite’s address in Worcester Road, and both were arrested.

Searches led to the seizure of drugs including 125 grams of amphetamine and more than 25 grams of heroin.

Officers also recovered Royal Mail parcel labels, order lists, Gorgonites-branded packaging, and a USB memory stick containing login credentials for multiple dark web marketplace accounts.

Investigators from ERSOU’s Cyber Crime unit went on to link the Gorgonites account to at least 570 individual sales on Nemesis since September 2023, and both suspects were charged with multiple offences.

Gilson-Massie, 29, went on to plead guilty at Peterborough Crown Court to nine charges linked to possessing drugs with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of drugs.

Borkauskaite, 27, admitted six counts of being concerned in the supply of drugs.

On 24 April, Gilson-Massie was sentenced to three years and six months’ imprisonment.

Borkauskaite was given a suspended sentence and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.

No safe spaces for organised crime

Detective Inspector Colin Troll said:

“Gilson‑Massie and Greta Borkauskaite ran a high‑volume drug dealing operation, supplying harmful drugs to hundreds of customers across the UK. "They believed the anonymity of the dark web put them beyond the reach of law enforcement, allowing them to operate a supply chain from their own home. "In reality, every order, message and transaction left a trail, and this case shows that the dark web will never be a safe haven for criminals.”
