Four arrested for fraud

Detectives have conducted an investigation into a scam where fraudsters are duping victims into handing over their debit cards or moving their money into a ‘safe’ account.

A 23-year-old man from Chadderton and three men aged 39, 29, and 21 from Rochdale, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud following warrants carried out this morning (Friday 2 August) with officers from Greater Manchester Police.

Searches are ongoing at the properties across Greater Manchester but so far officers have seized approximately £31,000 cash, small quantity of cannabis and a number of electronic devices.

The four men have been taken to a local police station for questioning.
