Formed in 2003, Tarian is part funded by the Home Office, Welsh Government and the three Southern Wales Police Forces: South Wales, Gwent and Dyfed-Powys. The ROCU is a multi-disciplinary team made up of police officers and staff seconded from the three forces. The lead force for the region is South Wales Police.
Tarian operates across Monmouthshire, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Newport, Cardiff, Rhondda Cynon Taff, the Vale of Glamorgan, Bridgend, Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Powys.
With over 17 specialist units and capabilities, the teams within Tarian are dedicated to disrupting and dismantling Serious Organised Crime Groups across the region.
